PDP Disqualifies Two Presidential Aspirants, Clears 15

PDP The Peoples Democratic Party, on Friday in Abuja, disqualified two of its 17 presidential aspirants. The Chairman of the Screening Committee, Senator David Mark, disclosed this to journalists shortly after the conclusion of the exercise at the Legacy House, Abuja, the presidential campaign headquarters of the main opposition. The screening, which began around 11 am, lasted till 7 pm and involved all the aspirants. Mark, however, declined to reveal the identities of the disqualified aspirants or the reasons for their disqualification. He simply noted that the aspirants did not meet the requirements set by the panel. Voter Registration In Imo Remains Suspended, INEC Tells Uzodimma

Hope Uzodimma The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has debunked the claim by Hope Uzodimma, the Imo State Governor, that the commission has resumed the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in places where the exercise was earlier suspended in the state. INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, who gave the clarification in a statement, yesterday, said the position of the commission had not changed. APC The Supreme Court on Tuesday voided Senator Andy Uba’s participation in the last governorship election in Anambra State as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress. A five-member panel of the court held that the APC breached its guidelines for the conduct of primaries and thus failed to conduct a valid primary from which Uba emerged as the party’s candidate. The apex court affirmed the February 23, 2022 judgment of the Court of Appeal, which upheld the December 20, 2021 judgment by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja. 2023: APC Releases Full Schedule Of Activities

APC The All Progressives Congress, APC, has released its schedule of activities and timetable for the 2023 general elections. The party said this was done in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 (as amended) and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, timetable. Recall that the National Executive Council (NEC) of the APC had met and transferred its powers to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party. Following this development, the APC NEC, had fixed N100 million for its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms.
