University Education Not For Everybody – Umahi

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has claimed that university education is not for everybody. The governor stated that it would be unreasonable for President Muhammadu Buhari's administration to borrow in excess of N1trn to meet the demands of the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. NUC: Teachers Still Yet to Enjoy the N30,000 Minimum Wage

Teachers across 15 states are yet to enjoy the N30,000 minimum wage increase since President Muhammadu Buhari signed the National Minimum Wage Act into law. The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) says teachers in states such as Abia, Bayelsa, Delta, Enugu, Nasarawa, Adamawa, Gombe, Niger, Borno, Sokoto, Anambra, Imo, Benue, Taraba, and Zamfara are yet to enjoy the agreed minimum wage even after the third year of the Act being passed into law. WAEC Releases 2022 WASSCE Results, Records 76.36% Pass

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has announced the release of the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates. Mr Patrick Areghan, the Head of Nigeria Office, WAEC, announced this on Monday at the WAEC office, Yaba. He said, “The results are being uploaded on the results website. ASUU Strike: Govt Has No Money To Meet ASUU’s Demands – Keyamo

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has declared that the federal government does not have the resources to meet the demands of the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and other university-based unions. ASUP Issues Okowa 30-Day Ultimatum Over Salary Policy

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), has given a 30-day ultimatum to Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, to put a stop to its Salary Subvention Policy in the state-owned polytechnics. The Polytechnic teachers made the demand at a news conference organised by its local chapter at the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku on Thursday. ASUU Strike: FG Discloses Strategy To End Lingering Strike

The Federal Government has said it will utilise voluntary conciliation as a solution to the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and other university-based unions. This was stated by Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, on Tuesday during a 3-day capacity-building workshop on International Labour Standards and Dispute Resolution in Nigeria in Abuja. He said that voluntary conciliation was adopted instead of arbitration in order to hasten the resolution process with the university teachers.
