A member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu representing Eti-Osa constituency 02 on Thursday presented free General Certificate Examination (GCE) forms to students, hinted  them on the importance of education and its impact to the nation at large. Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reiterated his administration's commitment to partner with Netherlands on health, Education, technology, trade, tourism and infrastructure. Sanwo-Olu Orders Investigation into Lagos Poly Crisis, Vows to Deal with Troublemakers

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, constituted a visitation Panel with a task to investigate all contentious issues that are setting the staff union against the management of Lagos State Polytechnic. Saying any member of the school breaching the peace in the school would be dealt with accounting to the law. He disclosed this in a statement signed by Gboyega Akosile, Deputy Chief Press Secretary. Lagos Govt Announces New Date for 2019/20 Entrance Exam to Public Schools

The Lagos State Ministry of Education has announced new dates for the 2019/2020 Entrance Examinations into the State Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools, the Placement Test into JSS 1 in all Public Secondary Schools across the State and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). According to a release by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs. Olatokunboh Adeleye, the examinations are aimed at testing the applicants’ academic capabilities for their choice of classes in the State-owned Schools. A video of some school girls performing at a competition wearing very skimpy outfits, has sparked serious outrage. The outfit which leaves the breasts and buttocks exposed is known as "inkciyo" and is a traditional wear of the Xhosa ethnic group, the second largest ethnic group in South Africa. Nigeria: JAMB Suspends Worker Over N36m Swallowed by Snake

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said on Sunday that it had suspended its employee, Philomina Chieshe, on account of N36m which was reported to have been swallowed by a snake in the board’s office in Makurdi, Benue State. The JAMB Head of Information, Fabian Benjamin, told our correspondent on Sunday that the board was taking her through other disciplinary measures while security agencies were investigating the matter. A mystery snake is said to have sneaked into the accounts office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, in Makurdi, the Benue State capital and made away with N36 million cash. Before now, JAMB candidates purchased scratch cards from JAMB state offices and other designated centers, to gain access to the Board’s website for either registration or to check their admission status but the reforms introduced by JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, recommended an end to the use of scratch cards. A team of auditors was dispatched to different state offices of JAMB to take inventory of the sold and unsold scratch cards and recover whatever money that might have either been generated or mismanaged during the period of the sale of scratch cards.
