An Abuja federal high court has turned down an application by the Department of State Services, DSS, seeking to arrest and detain the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele. The chief judge, Justice JT Tsoho, while declining the motion ex parte – filed in the absence of the respondent, said that the secret police lacked concrete evidence to prove its claims that Emefiele was involved in terrorism financing and economic crimes. Nnamdi Kanu’s Counsels Serve DSS, Malami Appeal Court Ruling

Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team has served copies of the judgment of the Court of Appeal that freed the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on the Department of State Services and the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN. Kanu’s counsels said that with the handover of the court order, the Federal Government is left with no choice but to free Kano from detention. Gunmen Kill Vigilante, Abduct DSS Officer In Abuja

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a Department of State Services operative during an attack on residents in Abaji, Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Saturday. The hoodlums also reportedly killed a vigilante member during the incident which occurred overnight. The armed men were said to have invaded the community in their numbers and attacked a DSS outpost in the area. The Department of State Services (DSS) has said that it has not been informed about the court judgment ordering it to pay N20B in damages to Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho. Peter Afunanya, spokesperson of the DSS who spoke on Friday said the court has not informed the DSS of the judgment.
