Umahi Explains Why FG Deployed Surveillance Aircraft In Ebonyi

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State has said that the Federal Government deployed a helicopter to the state to provide aerial surveillance during Saturday’s elections. He disclosed this on Friday in Abakaliki, the state capital, noting that the deployment of the helicopter was intended to augment security measures already put in place in the state. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Umahi said the helicopter would be flying at low altitudes and asked residents to go about their activities without fear. The governor gave assurance that the exercise was intended to scare away insurgents or bandits from disrupting the election in any part of the state. Umahi Emerges APC Senatorial Candidate In Fresh Polls

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has emerged as the winner of the Ebonyi South All Progressives Congress, APC, Senatorial fresh election conducted in the State.   The result was declared by Prof. Emmanuel Adebayo, the Chairman of the Electoral Panel for the APC Ebonyi South Senatorial district election. He announced that Umahi polled a total of 250 votes to win the election. He said that out of 275 votes cast, 268 votes were valid while 7 were invalid. Dave Umahi Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi has said that his administration will conclude its tenure on May 29, 2023, irrespective of its challenges. Umahi said this on Friday while reacting to the judgment of the Appeal Court sitting in Enugu which affirmed the judgment of the Ebonyi High court on his defection. Ebonyi: INEC To Take Decision On Gov Umahi’s Fate Next Week

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it would meet next week to deliberate on the Federal High Court’s sack of Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. Dave Umahi, and come up with an appropriate position on the matter. INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Barr. Festus Okoye disclosed this in a late Thursday statement. He said the commission met on Thursday and deliberated on a wide range of issues, including the rising tide of litigations that do not directly involve the Commission, but in which the principal parties joined it.
