Nigeria Govt. to Repatriate 4,982 Nigerians from Cameroon

The Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Senator Basheer Mohammed, has disclosed the commission’s plan to repatriate Nigerian refugees in Cameroon. The decision, according to the commission, was in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s directives all Nigerian refugees in Cameroon be returned back home safely to a life of dignity and pride with immediate effect. Ajax Goalkeeper Onana Suspended One Year for Doping

Ajax’s Cameroonian international goalkeeper Andre Onana has been suspended for one year for doping, the Dutch club said on Friday. The club said in a statement Onana had “mistakenly” taken his wife’s medicine which had led to the banned diuretic Furosemide appearing in his urine. Ajax said they had hoped Onana would receive a shorter ban because the substance was “arguably” not a performance booster. “On the morning of October 30, Onana was feeling unwell,” the club said in a statement. “He wanted to take a pill to ease the discomfort. Unknowingly, however, he took Lasimac, a drug that his wife had previously been prescribed. “Onana’s confusion resulted in him mistakenly taking his wife’s medicine, ultimately causing this measure to be taken by UEFA against the goalkeeper.” ...

Joel Matip Ruled Out of Season with Ankle Injury

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has disclosed that Cameroonian defender, Joel Matip is set to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines which will rule him out of the remainder of the 2020-2021 season due to an ankle ligament injury. Humanitarian body, Amnesty International has condemned the killing of eight school children inside their classroom by gunmen in Kumba, South West region of Cameroon on Saturday. The body in a statement issued on its verified Twitter, obtained by African News Today said that the killing amounted to an atrocity that underscores the urgency of protecting ordinary people from the ongoing violence in English speaking region of Cameroon. Gunmen who rode motorbikes and wore civilian clothes invaded a school in Kumba on Saturday and opened fire, killing eight children and injuring 12 others. A Priest of the Catholic church identified as Reverend Father Jude slumped and died while preaching the gospel during a holy mass on Sunday at Diego, Cameroon. Twitter user identified as @ChidiOdinkalu shared the news on Sunday. In the video shared online, the priest was seen preaching the homily while wearing a face mask before pausing and collapsing afterwards. Late Rev. Fr.
