World Cup: Morocco Holds Spain to a 2:2 Draw

Morocco ended their World Cup campaign with a fiery performance which saw them holding Spain to a 2:2 draw. Morocco opened scoring in the 14th minute through Boutaib and Isco leveled things up for Spain 5 minutes later. The match continued in a stalemate until the 81st minute when En-Nesyri scored Morocco's second. World Cup: Senegal Draws 2:2 with Japan

Senegal has drawn 2:2 with Japan in their second group match. The Senegalese opened scoring in the 11th minute through a Sadio Mane tap in. 23 minutes later, The Japanese leveled up the score through Takashi Inui ending the first half in a 1:1 draw. In the second half, Senegal took the lead in the 71st minute through Moussa Wague. However, the Japanese equalized through Keisuke Honda in the 78th minute. The match ended in a 2:2 draw, giving Senegal 4 points from two matches and Japan 1 point from two matches. Senegal will now take on Colombia on the 28th while Japan will take on Poland at the same time.

Breaking News: Senator Abaribe Arrested by DSS

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has been arrested by men of the Department of State Services (DSS). Senator Abaribe is the Senator representing Abia South in the upper house of the National Assembly. It is not yet clear why he was arrested but as at the time of filing this report, his home in Abuja has been cordoned off by officers of the DSS. It appears the men of the DSS are about to carry out a search of the residence. It will be recalled that the Senator is one of those that stood surety for Nnamdi Kanu, and had been instructed to produce him before the next hearing of his case.

Breaking: Ex-Plateau State Governor, Joshua Dariye Sentenced to 14 Years Imprisonment

Mr Joshua Dariye, former governor of Plateau state has sentenced to a 14 year jail term by an Abuja high court. Mr Dariye who was a governor of Plateau state between 1999 and 2007 was charged to by the EFCC on July 13, 2007 on a 23 count charge for money laundering allegedly diverting the State’s 1.126 billion Naira ecological funds. He was today June 12, 2018 found guilty of criminal misappropriation for which he was sentenced to a 2 year jail term and for criminal breach of trust for which he was sentenced to 14 years. Today, 7th of June 2018, The Supreme Court struck out GTBank’s motion for stay of execution of the Enugu Court of Appeal Division’s order that GTBank pays over N6 Billion into an interest yielding account at the Court of Appeal. Innoson’s legal team which was led by Prof McCarthy Mbadugha ESQ told the Supreme Court that the Judgment debt which arose from excess and unlawful charges which GTB took from Innoson’s account now stood at over N14billion. Breaking News: FG Moves Democracy Day from May 29 to June 12

The Federal Government of Nigeria has changed the date democracy day is celebrated from May 29 to June 12. There has for some time been clamours from a section of the country for the declaration of June 12 a National public holiday. Currently, the South-west states mark June 12 as a public holiday, to mark the date the late M.K.O Abiola purportedly won the 1993 presidential elections which was annulled by then Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida. In a press release today, the Federal Government announced the adoption of June 12 as the new democracy day and the conferment of national awards on M.K.O Abiola (GCFR - post humously), Baba Gana Kingibe (GCON) and Gani Fawehinmi (GCON - post humously). BREAKING: Kaduna Factional APC Office Demolished

The factional office of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State led by Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi was on Tuesday demolished. Our correspondent learnt that the one-storey building on 11B Sambo Road, was pulled down amidst tight security about 5am. On Thursday, the factional APC, ‘APC Akida’ and the ‘Restoration APC’ unveiled the office, saying that they had to stay away from the headquarters of the party along Ali Akilu road to avoid the activities of thugs. Nigeria: Metuh appears in court on a stretcher

A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh, was on Monday produced on a stretcher before the Federal High Court in Abuja for his ongoing trial in respect of the N400m he allegedly received from the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014. The trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, had to adjourn the matter due to the condition of the defendant. After the matter was adjourned, Metuh was taken to an ambulance of the National Hospital, Abuja, waiting outside the courtroom. He was driven off in the ambulance with number plate, 44Q 20FG, at about 10:27am on Monday. The case was adjourned till March 14. As published by Punchng
