Police Repel Another Attack in Imo, Kill Two Bandits

The Imo Police command says its operatives had killed two bandits during crossfire in Njaba Local Government Area on Saturday. The Commissioner of Police, Mr Abutu Yaro, confirmed this in a statement signed by the command’s Spokesman, CSP Mike Abattam, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Owerri. He said one AK47 riffle and an operational vehicle were recovered from the bandits during the gun duel. Bandits Contact Kaduna School, Confirm Abduction of 121 Students

Bandits who invaded Bethel Baptist High School Kaduna have confirmed having 121 students in captivity barely 30 hours after they struck. President Kaduna Baptist Conference and Proprietor of Bethel Baptist High school, Kaduna Rev. Yahaya Jangado disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday evening after a meeting of the management and parents of the abducted students. Rev Jangado said though the bandits called and allowed the school management to speak with few of the abductees, they were yet to demand for ransom. He said on Monday morning they received a distress call bandits invaded the school and on hearing the news they alerted security agencies to come to their rescue and they responded.

El-Rufai Shuts Down Bishop Oyedepo’s School, 12 Others

The Kaduna State Government has issued an order directing the closure of schools situated in areas identified as prone to bandit attacks. The development comes after bandits on Monday attacked Bethel Baptist school in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducting a yet to be ascertained number of students. According to the directive issued by the Director-General of Quality Assurance Authority in the state Ministry of Education, Umma Ahmed, to proprietors of private schools, the closure takes effect immediately. Bandits Kidnap Students in Kaduna, Two Soldiers Feared Dead

Bandits in the early hours of Monday attacked another school in Kaduna, whisking away an unspecified number of students. They attacked Bethel Secondary School in Maramara, Chikun Local Government Area on the outskirts of the Kaduna State capital. Kaduna Police Command could not immediately confirm the number of students abducted. It however said a joint security team comprising the Police, Army and others rescued 17 of the abducted students. Bandits Shoot Zamfara Lawmaker Dead

A member of the Zamfara House of Assembly, Mohammed Ahmed, has been shot dead by bandits along Sheme- Funtua Road in Katsina State. Announcing his death, the Clerk of the Zamfara House House of Assembly,  Saidu Anka, said Ahmed was traveling to his town when he was killed by the bandits. His funeral prayers would be performed at Sheikh Ahmed Umar Kanoma Mosque by 11 o’clock on Wednesday. Until his death, the deceased was the chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.

The police advised Abuja residents to disregard what it described as a rumour. Bandits Abduct 77 Persons In Fresh Attack On Kaduna Village

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted 77 persons at Libere village in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna state. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, April 21. According to AIT, village head of neighbouring Kalla, Aminu Na’Iri who confirmed the incident said eight members of a family, including the wife and children are among the abducted persons. BREAKING: Kaduna Orders Immediate Closure Of Schools Over Attacks

The Kaduna State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all public and private schools in the Kajuru Local Government Area of the state. According to a memo signed by the zonal education office, Sabon Tasha, all schools should close due to the prevailing security situation in the area. The memo, dated March 16, was addressed to all principals of public and private schools. Gunmen had on March 11 stormed the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Mando, Kaduna state, kidnapping 39 students. The Kaduna college was said to have about 300 male and female students, mostly aged 17 and older at the time of the attack. Gunmen abduct Female Students in Kaduna

Suspected bandits have abducted unspecified number of female students of The Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Mando area of Kaduna State. Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige confirmed the incident. He said the exact number of students abducted is unknown. “They were abducted last night, we have no details of the number of students,” ASP Jalige said. He said the Police was working with the Army to trace the kidnappers and rescue the students.
