Osun State Solicits FG’s Support to Build Airport

Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has solicited support from the Federal Government for the state’s airport project. The governor on Thursday visited the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika where he sought support from the ministry to help the state accomplish the construction of its airport. A tweet by the official Twitter handle of the Federal Ministry of Aviation disclosed the visit. The tweet read, "Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has visited Aviation Minister, Sen. @hadisirika in his office to solicit support for the state's Airport Project." https://twitter.com/fmaviationng/status/1337023925402939394 The airport site is located at Ido Osun, Ede North/ Egbedore Local Government Area.

Arik Air Dismisses 300 Workers

The management of Arik Air has terminated the appointment of 300 members of staff of airline. The airline disclosed this in a statement titled, “Arik Air management declares 300 staff redundant” released on Friday. It said the decision to sack some staff members was informed by the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on business operation. It added that a redundancy package would be made available to the affected workers with the assistance of the aviation unions. FG Ratifies $3.1bn Customs Automation Concession Project

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has ratified the concession of the automation project of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS). Minister of finance, budget and national planning, Zainab Ahmed said the automation project will cost $3.1 billion. She noted the project will be concessioned for 20 years. The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has said that the Bell 206-B3 that crashed on Salvation Road, Opebi in the Ikeja area of Lagos State has no black box. Investigation has started without the black box, revealed AIG, the investigating body in charge of all air-related mishaps in Nigeria. Breaking: Two Dead as Helicopter Crashes in Lagos

A plane has crashed in Lagos, Nigeria leading to the death of the pilot and one passenger. Reports say one person was rescued alive from the Quorum Aviation owned helicopter, Sahara Reporters reports. Eye witness account say the crash took place around the Salvation Bus-stop area of Lagos. The figures were confirmed by Nosa Okunbor, Head of Public Affairs of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency. Okunbor said, "There are three casualties. Two died. Scores Dead as Plane Crashes in South Sudan

Scores of people are believed to have died in South Sudan after a cargo plane that took off from airport in Juba crashed. Eight people were on board the plane that belongs to South west Aviation which was heading to Northen Bahr el Ghazal state, Kur Kuol Director of Juba International Airport said.
