Opinion: Endless Borrowing Will Lead to Endless Sorrowing by Atiku Abubakar

John Quincy Adams once said “there are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword. The other is by debt.” He may have very well been referring to Nigeria of the last three years. Barely two weeks ago, I warned during my Founder’s Day lecture at the American University of Nigeria, Yola, that Nigeria had taken almost as much foreign debt in the last three years, as she had taken in the thirty years before 2015 combined. Now that is frightening. And very true. Frightening, not just because of the amount, but because after such unprecedented borrowing, we have emerged as the world headquarters for extreme poverty and the global capital for out of school children. It begs the question: what were the funds used for? I have said it time and again. The business of governm...

A Message of Gratitude to Nigerians For Your Support on this Necessary Journey – Atiku

Dearly beloved citizens of Nigeria, I write to personally thank you for your support for our shared common goal and the solidarity I enjoyed from all walks of life and every strata of society, right from July 21, 2018, when I informed you, the good people of Nigeria, that I would contest the 2019 Presidential election, to Wednesday, September 11, 2019, when the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal rendered its verdict. Nothing good comes easy, and hard as the task to rid Nigeria from the forces of fascism, and be an instrument for the full restoration of the rule of law and democracy in Nigeria is, your support makes the struggle worthwhile. I owe so much to this great land of Nigeria that took me from the streets of Jada, where I sold firewood, to the heights I have attained, ...

Opinion: Who Is Afraid of Atiku Abubakar? by Femi Aribisala.

There are indications today’s APC government is not averse to using the Shugaba playbook on Atiku. These are very interesting times in Nigeria.  The APC government has reportedly won a major election, but it is finding it difficult, if not impossible, to celebrate and enjoy its victory.  Before the champagne could be uncorked, Atiku Abubakar filed a case in court challenging the result, claiming it was fraudulent from start to finish. But this was a challenge unlike any other that Nigeria has seen before.  Out of the blue, Atiku produced another set of results different from the one declared by INEC showing that he had actually won the election.  Except that this other result also came from INEC.  As a matter of fact, it was retrieved from the INEC server and it was authenticated by ...

Nigeria: Atiku not Constitutionally Qualified to Contest, He was Born in Cameroon

Only natural born citizens by birth are valid and eligible source of producing a president in Nigeria. In an interesting twist, a news brought to the fore by Nnamdi Kanu regarding Atiku's birth appears to have brought up a constitutional concern. Following this revelation, a bishop wrote an article on Facebook explaining the constitutional implication of this. "People of God.. When someone talks, try and listen, understand and assimilate before you vomit a reply.. . Atiku Abubakar is a Fulani man as he said. He is from Adamawa state. He is a Nigerian today. He is the presidential aspirant of the PDP.. No one is taking all these a way from him.. . A referendum was held in British Cameroons on 11 February 1961 (today Marks it 58years) to determine whether the territory should join n...
