APC Presidential Primary: Why Oyegun’s Committee Axed 10 Aspirants

The Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led Presidential Screening Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has axed 10 of the 23 presidential aspirants of the party. Although it was not immediately possible to get the list of those affected the committee chairman said all the aspirants were qualified in terms of qualifications and constitutional requirements but his team had cut down the number based on six other factors. APC Screening Committee Disqualifies 10 Presidential Aspirants

The All Progressives Congress Screening Committee has disqualified 10 presidential aspirants of the party. Recall that 23 aspirants were screened in two days by the committee.   The Chairman of the APC presidential screening committee, John Odigie-Oyegun, made this known on Friday. Okorocha Gets Bail, Leaves EFCC Custody

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday ordered a former governor of Imo State and presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Rochas Okorocha, to remain in custody until he perfects the conditions attached to his bail. Justice Inyang Ekwo made the order after admitting the ex-governor to bail in the sum of N500m and one surety in the like sum. Admitted also to bail by Justice Inyang Ekwo is his co-accused, Anyim Nyerere, who was sighted in a 17-count that majored on money laundering. Former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has not been screened by the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the party’s presidential primary. The Central Bank of Nigeria has denied the sack of its Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, describing the report as an unfounded rumour.
