Presidency Source Hints Zamfara Gov’s Defection to APC

The Presidency has confirmed the defection of the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. This is according to a Facebook post by Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, on Sunday. “So Zamfara is back home, Welcome Matawalle,” the post read. The defection has, however, not been confirmed by the governor who, back in April, was visited by six PDP governors, a move to desuade him from joining the APC.
