Olympics: Nigeria Assured Medal As Wrestler Oborududu Qualifies For Final

Blessing Oborodudu, Nigeria’s representative at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic women’s wrestling event has qualified for the final after beating Battsetseg Soronzobold of Mongolia. Her success means Team Nigeria is assured of either a gold or silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics. Oborududu got the better of Battsetseg Soronzobold in an 7-2 victory to qualify the final of the 68kg. The impressive Nigerian wrestler faces America’s Tamyra Mensah-Stock in the final. She had defeated Azerbaijani’s Elis Manolova and Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan to advance to her first Olympic semi-final. D’Tigers Coach Vows Not To quit After Olympic Ouster

Mike Brown, coach of Nigeria’s men's basketball team has vowed not to leave his position as D’Tigers coach after they failed to progress further in the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games on Saturday. D’Tigers lost all three of their group games to favourites Australia, Germany and Italy, just two weeks after stunning exhibition upsets over Team USA and Argentina. Brown took charge of the former African champions in an attempt to push the emerging basketball country to the next level. An NBA coach for the Lakers and Cavaliers and currently an assistant with the Golden State Warriors, Brown is credited for helping Nigeria improve and become an international factor over the past few months.
