Switzerland qualified for the second round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup by defeating Costa Rica 2:2. Costa Rica were already out of the tournament an were only playing for pride. They were however unable to get maximum points against a Swiss team that needed just a draw.
The Swiss got the first goal of the match in the 31st minute through Dzemaili. Costa Rica leveled scores in the 56th minute through Waston.
Switzerland again took the lead in the 88th minute through Drmic and in the 3rd minute of additional time, The Swizz got a third however at the wrong net, scoring an own goal which ended the match in a 2:2 all draw.
Switzerland now advances to the second round having come second in the group with 5 points. Costa Rica however heads home with just the one point they earned from the match.
