The Super Falcons of Nigeria refused to train on Wednesday in protest of their unpaid bonuses and allowances for the ongoing WAFCON 2022.
According to reports, their decision was informed by unpaid bonuses and allowances that have pilled up for years.
The Nigerian female national team are reportedly yet to receive bonuses accruable to them at the ongoing 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
According to CompleteSports, the players met with Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, officials on Wednesday morning over the issue.

The latest would not be the first team the Falcons have embarked on protest as there have been other protests owing to nonpayment in the past.
Recall that the players after their exit from the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France protested over unpaid bonuses.
They stayed put in their hotel demanding their unpaid wages from 2016.
The nine-time African champions are scheduled to play against the She-polopolo of Zambia in search of a third-place finish on Friday. The match will be played at Stade Mohamed V, Casablanca.
