Nigerian international Alex Iwobi was in sublime form as Premiership side Everton overcame relegation threatened Norwich City at Carrow road on Wednesday.
Iwobi’s fine showing in the encounter inspired Everton to a win which placed them number 10 in the league standings.
The Eagles attacker started his first consecutive games since the appointment of Italian Carlo Ancelloti as Everton’s manager in December, 2019. Iwobi sustained injury shortly after Ancelotti took charge.
Iwobi featured for 90 minutes before being replaced by Gyfil Sidgursson in the extra time of the encounter. The win marks the Toffees first win since the restart of the Premiership after more than 100 days COVID-19 induced break.
The 24-year-old Arsenal academy graduate was had a good showing throughout the match though he came short of registering his name on the scoresheet.
He had an impressive stat to back up his sterling performance with 63 touches, 4 out of 5 dribbles completed (80%), 7/9 duels won (78%), 3 key passes made, 29/39 accurate passes (74%) and finished with an 8.1 rating.
The performance proved one of his best outings in Everton’s blue jersey since making a 35 million pounds switch from Arsenal.
Michael Keane leaped highest at the near post to convert a Lucas Digne corner to notch the sole goal of the match.
