AFCON Draw Billed for June 25

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will find out their group opponents for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on June 25, African News Today has gathered.

The three-time African champions booked a slot in Cameroon 2021 last weekend.

Nigeria secured a place at the final through an unbeaten run in Group L with four wins and two draws, garnering 14 points.

23 teams have so far qualified for the biennial competition which was postponed to 2022 due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.

The encounter between the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone and Squirrels of Benin Republic in June will determine the last slot for the continental showpiece.

The Super Eagles will need to improve on her last outing, having finished in the third position at the last edition of the competition in Egypt.

The 2022 AFCON will take place between January 9 to February 6, 2022, in Cameroon.
