Ondo Decides: Jegede Votes, Refuses to Jump Queue

Eyitayo Jegede, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the ongoing Ondo State governorship election has cast his vote at his polling unit, joining other electorates in the queue before voting.

Jegede said his refusal to jump the queue was to serve as an example to the good people of the state on the best way to behave.

The PDP flagbearer and his wife arrived polling unit at Ward 2, Polling Unit 10, Akure South Local Government, at about 9:00am.

The former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice while speaking to journalists said, “Don’t forget that I am a citizen of this state. The same blood that flows in my veins flows in their veins. It is only fair that we stay where we should be.

“The truth is that so many people came here so early and it will be unfair for me to jump the queue. We must lay good examples, we must lay good narratives.”

Among the major candidates for the governorship position are Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who vying for a second tenure on the platform of the All Progressives Congress; and Agboola Ajayi, of the Zenith Labour Party who was Akeredolu’s former deputy.

Recall that Jedege lost the governorship election to Akeredolu in 2016.
