Nigeria: Respect the Rule of Law, Lawmaker Urges FG, Shi’ites

A member, House of Representatives Hon. Jimoh Olajide has called on the Federal government, the Shi’ites group to respect the rule of law and the sanctity of human life.

He said this at the plenary yesterday on the issues of incessant killing raised as a motion of urgent of Public Importance.

Jimoh, representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency criticised and condemned the incessant killing, memeing, violence and hand twisting tactics been recently deployed by the Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria popularly called Al-Zakzaky Group towards actualising for the release of their Leader.

He sympathised with the families of those that lost their lives, especially the families of the Corps Member serving in the Channels Television, Precious Owolabi, and the family of the DCP Usman Umar who lost his life in course of performing his duty as a Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Operation in the FCT, Abuja.

Jimoh later called the government to step up action to stem incessant Killings and also prayed to God Almighty to give the families of the deceased ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
