The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Government on Housing, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka has enjoined residents seeking accommodation to engage the services of the Lagos State Real Estate Transaction Directorate (LASRETRAD) of the State Ministry of Housing.
Benson-Awoyinka on Thursday described the newly commissioned 492 homes named Alhaji Lateef Jakande Gardens Housing Estate at Ikotun/ Igando Local Council Development Area  delivered by the State Government as a major hallmark of good governance for the masses.
She said that the State Government has embarked on massive housing projects as part of efforts to provide affordable accommodation for all residents who are in need of a home to rent or buy.
The Special Adviser decried the high rate of fraudulent acts among Estate Agents and Developers who defraud unsuspecting members of the public of their hard-earned money.
“The State Government has decided to liberate Lagos residents from swindlers as well as fraudulent estate agents and developers through the provision of affordable accommodation. We have received several complaints from victims of these dubious acts in our office,” she said.
While imploring members of the public to expose fraudulent estate agents by lodging complaints with LASRETRAD for appropriate action, Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka urged all stakeholders in the real estate sector to partner with the State Government for effective tackling of the housing deficit problem in Lagos.
