Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has revealed outcome of deliberation with President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the president guaranteed him of a peaceful election.
The flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Edo State September 19 governorship election disclosed this while encouraging voters to turn out in large numbers to exercise their franchise, Daily post reports.
Obaseki while addressing members of the PDP during a campaign rally in Ovia South West Local government area of the state urged his followers to come out and voter without fear of harassment or intimidation by the opposition.
The governor said, “President Buhari has assured me that the Edo election will be peaceful.”
He insisted that there will be peace in the State before, during and after the election.
Obaseki stated, “They are not more than us in number; vote and make sure your vote counts. Stay back in your polling units to ensure they count your vote in your presence.”
