Abakaliki, the state capital of Ebonyi State has once again erupted in violence as gunshots rent the air in major parts of the city.
The violence which began around 3pm caused panic in the city as residents scampered for safety.
It was unclear where the gunshots were coming from or who was firing but reports circulating online said the Central Police Station Onuebonyi has been set ablaze by suspected hoodlums.
Police and other security agencies were also reported to be engaging the hoodlums in a gun duel at the time of filling the report.
