Defending champions Germany were shocked to a 1:0 defeat to Mexico. Hirving Lozano’s first half goal, scored in the 35th minute was all Mexico needed to win the match.
As would be expected, Germany made attempts, having 60% of ball possession, 25 attempts at goal with 9 being on target, 9 off-target and 7 blocked. With just 12 attempts at goal with only 4 being on target, Mexico still took the day.
Mexico will now take on Korea Republic on the 23rd while Germany will take on Sweden later the same day.
