Messi and the Argentine team were stunned by a 3:0 loss to Croatia. After the first half ended goal-less, a horrible error by the Argentine goalkeeper in the 53rd saw the ball landing to Rebic who shot the ball right into the net for Croatia’s first goal.
Things got worse for Arengtina when Moderic fired in a lovely shot from outside the 18-yard box, beating the goalkeeper. With Argentina trying to find a way back, they threw men forward which allowed Croatia score a third via a counter-attack in the first minute of additional time.
Argentina will hope that Nigeria plays a draw or wins Iceland in their match, meaning they must win their last match against Nigeria to stand any chance of qualifying.
