Prof. Emmanuel stated this while he was featured on the Arise TV programme, he further stated that the reason the strike continues is that the Federal Government does not want to meet the demands of ASUU.
He also blasted Minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige for taking ASUU to the National Industrial Court while the House of Representatives and President Buhari are still negotiating with the Union to end the eight-month strike.
“All Nigerians can see that the government is not interested in resolving the issues. Like I have said, these issues can be resolved in just one or two days.”
“But they are playing with everything. Why will a minister of labour be going to court when the pro-chancellors are having interaction with the president who promised to get back.”
“If you force lecturers to class, how are you sure you will have the best of teaching and research? This can be resolved in one day if the federal government is interested”, He said.
