ASUU Strike: APC Youth Leader Intervenes, Meets Ngige, Calls ASUU, NANS

Dayo Israel, the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has disclosed that he initiated talks with the government and the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to find a solution to the ongoing strike. According to Israel, he met with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige yesterday in Abuja to discuss the lingering industrial action by ASUU. 25 Nigerien Migrants Dumped in the Desert by Smugglers

At least twenty-five Niger migrants consisting of women and children have been rescued in the northern Niger desert after they were dumped by their driver. This was disclosed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in a statement issued on Tuesday. The migrants were rescued "last weekend in the Sahara desert by (teams of) IOM and the Directorate of Civil Protection of Niger," said the UN agency in a Facebook post.
