Bandits Contact Kaduna School, Confirm Abduction of 121 Students

Bandits who invaded Bethel Baptist High School Kaduna have confirmed having 121 students in captivity barely 30 hours after they struck. President Kaduna Baptist Conference and Proprietor of Bethel Baptist High school, Kaduna Rev. Yahaya Jangado disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday evening after a meeting of the management and parents of the abducted students. Rev Jangado said though the bandits called and allowed the school management to speak with few of the abductees, they were yet to demand for ransom. He said on Monday morning they received a distress call bandits invaded the school and on hearing the news they alerted security agencies to come to their rescue and they responded.

Bandits Shoot Zamfara Lawmaker Dead

A member of the Zamfara House of Assembly, Mohammed Ahmed, has been shot dead by bandits along Sheme- Funtua Road in Katsina State. Announcing his death, the Clerk of the Zamfara House House of Assembly,  Saidu Anka, said Ahmed was traveling to his town when he was killed by the bandits. His funeral prayers would be performed at Sheikh Ahmed Umar Kanoma Mosque by 11 o’clock on Wednesday. Until his death, the deceased was the chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.

Seven Soldiers Killed in Clash With Unknown Gunmen in Abia Community

Soldiers of 14 Brigade, Army Headquarters, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barracks, who invaded Ohafia in the Ohafia Local Government of Abia State in search of gunmen suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), have burnt down several houses in the area. A source who spoke with SaharaReporters on Sunday said a lot of residents and indigenes of Elu, Amangwu, Ebem and Ohafia fled their communities to neighbouring villages due to the constant invasion.
