Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr has expressed optimism that the presence of former Super Eagles Forward, Odion Ighalo would have improved the finishing of young strikers such as Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho. Gunmen kill Ondo Monarch

Suspected kidnappers have killed a first-class traditional ruler in Ondo State, the Oluifon of Ifon in Ose Local Government Area, Oba Israel Adeusi. According to reports, Oba Adeusi was  shot about 5:50pm near Elegbeka village along the Benin-Akure highway while returning to his community after a meeting in Akure. Sources said he was confirmed dead at a private hospital where he was rushed to. It was gathered that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu canceled all his official engagements when he heard of the killing. The kidnappers were said to have also abducted two persons at the same spot. Police spokesman, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, who confirmed the killing, said all police divisions within the Ondo North axis have been mobilised to arrest the perpetrators.

Enugu Yellow Fever: Fear of Outbreak Grows in Nsukka, Isi-Uzo, Igbo-Etiti LGAs

Following the confirmed cases of Yellow Fever in Enugu Ezike, Igbo North Local Government Area, LGA, of Enugu state by the state government, there are fears the outbreak might have extended to other towns after reports of unusual deaths in Nsukka, Isi-Uzo and Igbo-Etiti LGAs. This was contained in a statement released on Sunday, signed by the state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Emmanuel Ikechukwu Obi. Obi said the ministry had already taken samples of individuals suspected to be afflicted by the disease and sent them to the National Reference Laboratory at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja for complete examination. The names of seven alleged victims of the October 20 Lekki shootings have ‘surfaced’ at the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS related abuses and other matters. Their lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika SAN, told the panel that he had a petition on their behalf against the Nigerian Army. President Muhammadu Buhari has reechoed his administration’s commitment to putting an end to estimated billing in every form in the country.
