Nigeria Won’t Tolerate Secessionists – NSA  

Major General Babagana Monguno (retd.), the National Security Adviser, has said that Nigeria will never harbour any group of secessionists or terrorists seeking to destabilise another friendly sovereign country. Monguno said this on Tuesday during his speech at the opening ceremony of the eighth session of the Cameroon-Nigeria transborder security committee meeting at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The Shehu of Borno, Abubakar El-Kanemi, and other traditional leaders in Borno State have expressed reservations about incorporating repentant Boko Haram members into their communities after the harm they have caused. They expressed fears over the de-radicalisation of repentant members of Boko Haram by the Nigerian Army under its Safe Corridor programme. Boko Haram/ISWAP Releases Pictures of Abducted Soldiers, Yobe Protocol Officers

Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have released pictures of the two soldiers and Yobe Liaison officer they abducted on Damaturu/Maiduguri highway on Saturday. The insurgents also released the identity cards of their abductees. In the display of the ID cards, two of the cards belong to Mai Lalle, one for Mustapha while the other belongs to Lpcl Oyediran Adedotun of the Nigeria Army. The ID card of the fourth abductee was not sighted from the list of the cards provided by the insurgents. Bandits Contact Kaduna School, Confirm Abduction of 121 Students

Bandits who invaded Bethel Baptist High School Kaduna have confirmed having 121 students in captivity barely 30 hours after they struck. President Kaduna Baptist Conference and Proprietor of Bethel Baptist High school, Kaduna Rev. Yahaya Jangado disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday evening after a meeting of the management and parents of the abducted students. Rev Jangado said though the bandits called and allowed the school management to speak with few of the abductees, they were yet to demand for ransom. He said on Monday morning they received a distress call bandits invaded the school and on hearing the news they alerted security agencies to come to their rescue and they responded.

Bandits in the early hours of Monday attacked another school in Kaduna, whisking away an unspecified number of students. They attacked Bethel Secondary School in Maramara, Chikun Local Government Area on the outskirts of the Kaduna State capital. Gunmen Kidnap Pupils from Islamic School in Niger State

Scores of pupils were yesterday abducted from Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School, Tegina, Niger State. The Niger State government and the Police Command, which confirmed the incident, did not specify the number of the pupils that were kidnapped. Residents however, put the number at over 200. The Islamic school, located near the Tegina Police Station in Rafi Local Government Area, was established by a retired immigration officer. Yesterday’s abduction came barely 24 hours after the 15 Greenfield varsity students and three members of staff were released by their abductors after collecting N180 million and eight motorcycles.
