Bandits Abduct 77 Persons In Fresh Attack On Kaduna Village

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted 77 persons at Libere village in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna state. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, April 21. According to AIT, village head of neighbouring Kalla, Aminu Na’Iri who confirmed the incident said eight members of a family, including the wife and children are among the abducted persons. Libere village is located around a thick forest across River Kaduna from Kasuwan Magani Kalla village which makes it hard for security operatives to respond quickly to any attack in the area. Geidam, Yobe State hometown of the Acting Police Inspector General Usman Baba Alkali, came under attack last night from terror sect, Boko Haram, sending residents scampering for their lives. The Bring Back Our Girls movement has released a list bearing the names of all the girls still held captive by the terror group, Boko Haram after their kidnap on April 14, 2014. The list was released by the Lagos chapter of BBOG during a sit-out in Ikoyi to mark the seventh anniversary of the kidnap, Punch reports. The Federal Government has restated its commitment to end insurgency in the country. The Presidency said the fight against insecurity will be revved up soon with the expected arrival of six Super Tucano light attack aircraft from the United States (U.S.) mid-July.
