Military needs Superior Weapons to End Insurgency – Ndume

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, Ali Ndume, has urged the Federal Government to increase the military budget for buying arms to enable them defeat Boko Haram insurgents. He said if the military budget for personnel and overheads dwarfs the amount spent on arms and ammunition, the military would not be able to defeat the insurgents. The senator insisted that the military needs modern and superior weapons to defeat the insurgents. Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested five suspected Fulani armed robbers in the Kuje area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, with two vehicles containing locally made guns. SaharaReporters learnt that the Fulani suspects were nabbed by troops of 176 Battalion, Gwagwalada, during a stop and search operation at the entrance of Kuje Area council on Thursday.
