Amnesty International Sides With Terrorists – Presidency

The Presidency has accused Amnesty International, a non-governmental organisation that fights abuses, of being an ally of terror groups rather than foreground the liberty of terror victims. The Nigerian government also said the group has no legal right to exist in Nigeria. Garba Shehu, media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement criticized Amnesty International over its ‘support’ for pro-secession groups like IPOB. The statement read, “Amnesty International’s latest salvo at Nigeria is but more of the same. “Again, they have decided to side with terrorists, before the liberty of those they injure, displace, and murder. “Speaking the language of universal human rights, Amnesty International deploys it only in defence – even outright promotion – of those that viole...

Mbaka, who made the call in a homily during Sunday mass, queried whether the attack on the NDA was carried out by the IPOB leader. He warned that the attack on the NDA was still elementary to what would happen if something drastic was not done urgently to avert it. In the homily, which had gone viral, Mbaka stated, “Did you not hear that yesterday (Saturday), bandits entered...

It’s Evil, Pure and Simple By Femi Adesina

It is both sad and disheartening to observe the construct that some people try to give certain developments in the country. And that came out in bold relief in this week’s attack on the officers’ quarters of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), in which two people were killed, and one abducted. The news headlines, the slant of the stories, the analyses and discussions, all tended to paint a narrative of the humiliation of our military, the failure of government, and the fact that anarchy had been unleashed on the land. Watching, listening to and reading all the deliberate obfuscation of the matter reinforces the conviction once again that our country is filled with haters of government, of humanity, of good, and even of God. They deliberately muddy the waters, rejoice at evil and all for...
