FG Begins Payment Of Increased Police Salary January

The Federal Executive Council has approved 20 per cent upward review of the salaries of the Nigeria Police Force personnel with effect from January 2022. The Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, disclosed this to State House Correspondents at the end of the virtual Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday. The minister explained that the increased remuneration was a result of the demands of youths during the #EndSARS protests that rocked the country in October 2020. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has charged Kenneth Minimah, a former Chief of Army Staff, with fraud involving alleged misappropriation of N13 billion meant for arms purchase. Mr Minimah was charged alongside an erstwhile Chief of Accounts and Budget of the Nigerian Army, A. O. Adetayo, a major-general, and the former Director, Finance and Accounts of the Nigerian Army, R. The lawmaker, representing Ohaukwu North constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chinedu Awo, has been attacked by gunmen on his way to his hometown Effium Community in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.
