Gunmen Attack Kuje Prison, Release Inmates

Gunmen attack at the the Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja yesterday caused major panic as residents feared for their lives. The suspected terrorist attack was carried out in a deliberate attempt to force entry and free some prisoners.   Reports say three bomb blasts were heard within the correctional facility with the first one occurring around 10;25pm. Police Rescue Italian Catholic Priest Abducted In Edo, Kill 3 Suspects

An Italian Catholic Priest, Fr. Luigi Brena, who was kidnapped along Ogunwenyi, Usen community in Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State has been rescued by the police. This was confirmed by Jennifer Iwegbu, the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command. Iwegbu said men of the Nigerian police killed three of the suspects after the clergy was abducted on Sunday in the evening.   There have been cases of kidnapping of clergymen in Edo and across Nigeria. Recall that gunmen recently abducted two Catholic priests along the Benin-Auchi Expressway. Catholic Priests Abducted along Expressway in Edo

Two catholic priests traveling along the Benin-Auchi-Abuja Expressway have reportedly been kidnapped. The priests were abducted on Saturday while traveling from Benin to Uromi in Edo state. Shortly after Rev. Fr. Christopher Odia of the St. Michael Catholic Church, located around the Edo North Senatorial District was kidnapped and killed, two other priests, Rev.Fathers Udo Peter and Philemon were also kidnapped in the same state. According to multiple reports, the members were deceived and hypnotized by their pastors to remain in church under the guise of a prophecy that Jesus christ will arrive on September. Terrorist Attack – Seven Soldiers Feared Dead in Taraba

A suspected terrorist attack has left about seven soldiers dead in Taraba State. Reports say that the soldiers were killed in a forest located around Amdami in the Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State on Thursday.
