Lagos Emergency Workers Protests, Demand 5 Month Unpaid Salary
Some members of staff of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency Response Unit (LRU) on Friday protested demanding the payment of over five months' salary arrears owed by the Lagos State government.
The protest which was staged at Alausa, Ikeja saw the staff with placard of various inscriptions
The report gathered that the large number of workers who had reportedly stopped reporting for work, the number of agents at the LRU call centre had been depleted.
One of the workers who pleaded anonymity said they have stopped the emergency management operations in Lagos and manned the Command and Control Centre at Alausa, Ikeja, where over 80,000 emergency calls were received on a daily.
