Fed. Govt. to Continue Administration of AstraZeneca

The Federal Government has disclosed that it will continue the administration of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. It said evidence has shown that asides from being 76 per cent effective at preventing COVID-19, it also prevents severe disease and hospitalisation. Head of Public Relations Unit of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Mohammad Ohitoto, stated these in a statement in Abuja. Kidnapped Anambra Commissioner Ezewanne released — Police

The Anambra Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr Emeka Ezenwanne, who was kidnapped on March 31, has been released, the state Police command has confirmed. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that Ezenwanne was kidnapped by some gunmen, after a gun battle that led to the death of three police personnel. The kidnappers had invaded the venue of an interactive session between an All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship aspirant, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and youths at Isuofia civic centre. BREAKING: NAF fighter Jet loses Radar Contact in Borno, Whereabouts Unknown

A Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jet involved in the anti-terror war against Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province has lost radar contact in Borno State. NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, in a statement on Thursday, said the incident happened on Wednesday evening. The statement was titled, ‘Nigerian Air Force Alpha-Jet Loses Radar Contact’. Gabkwet said though the whereabouts of the attack jet was unknown as of the time of filing this report, search and rescue efforts were ongoing. All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader Asiwabu Bola Tinubu has clarified his proposal on the country’s need to combine its employment and national security policy. The Rivers State House of Assembly has confirmed Justice Simeon Amadi as the Chief Judge. He is the second most senior judge of the state High Court. The Federal Government has warned Nigerians over fake COVID-19 vaccines currently in circulation in Africa. It stated that about 3,000 of the fake vaccines, which were Africa-bound from China, have been intercepted on African soil. The Kaduna State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all public and private schools in the Kajuru Local Government Area of the state. According to a memo signed by the zonal education office, Sabon Tasha, all schools should close due to the prevailing security situation in the area. The memo, dated March 16, was addressed to all principals of public and private schools. Gunmen had on March 11 stormed the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Mando, Kaduna state, kidnapping 39 students. The Kaduna college was said to have about 300 male and female students, mostly aged 17 and older at the time of the attack.
