Fed. Govt. to Continue Administration of AstraZeneca

The Federal Government has disclosed that it will continue the administration of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. It said evidence has shown that asides from being 76 per cent effective at preventing COVID-19, it also prevents severe disease and hospitalisation. Head of Public Relations Unit of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Mohammad Ohitoto, stated these in a statement in Abuja. Kidnapped Anambra Commissioner Ezewanne released — Police

The Anambra Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr Emeka Ezenwanne, who was kidnapped on March 31, has been released, the state Police command has confirmed. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that Ezenwanne was kidnapped by some gunmen, after a gun battle that led to the death of three police personnel. A Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jet involved in the anti-terror war against Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province has lost radar contact in Borno State. NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, in a statement on Thursday, said the incident happened on Wednesday evening. The statement was titled, ‘Nigerian Air Force Alpha-Jet Loses Radar Contact’. The Kaduna State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all public and private schools in the Kajuru Local Government Area of the state. According to a memo signed by the zonal education office, Sabon Tasha, all schools should close due to the prevailing security situation in the area. The memo, dated March 16, was addressed to all principals of public and private schools. Gunmen had on March 11 stormed the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Mando, Kaduna state, kidnapping 39 students.
