APC Candidate Wins Jigawa by-election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammad Adamu, has won Saturday’s State Constituency by-election in Kafinhausa Jigawa State. Adamu got 14,924 votes to defeat the other candidates in the poll. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the election took place in the 120 polling units in the area. The result was declared by Prof. Ahmed Kutama, the Returning Officer, at the collation centre in Kafinhausa Local Government Area. Kutama said the APC candidate defeated his closest rival, Garba Muhammad Tambale, of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 8,612 votes. The electoral officer declared Adamu the winner, having secured the highest number of votes. The candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Usman Isyak, finished third with 72 votes.

Bawa didn’t advise INEC Not to Sell Forms to Anyone —EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has described as false a report circulating on social media that its Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, advised the Independent National Electoral Commission against selling forms to persons with a file with the agency who are aspiring to contest in 2023 general elections. The EFCC said Bawa has neither met with INEC officials nor made any pronouncement remotely related to the election since he was appointed.
