Excessive Fast Can Damage Kidney, NAFDAC Warns
Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has warned that excessive fast can cause kidney problems.
The NAFDAC DG stated this on Monday while interacting with journalists in Abuja, noting that using substandard, unwholesome products can equally lead to kidney failure and death.
Recall that kidney failure occurs when your kidneys can no longer properly filter your blood. This leads to accumulation of toxins in your blood.
The President of the Nigerian Association of Nephrology, Dr Adanze Asinobi, said that about 869 million globally are suffering from kidney problem and in Nigeria, there is an increasing prevalence of the disease.
