Excessive Fast Can Damage Kidney, NAFDAC Warns

Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has warned that excessive fast can cause kidney problems. The NAFDAC DG stated this on Monday while interacting with journalists in Abuja, noting that using substandard, unwholesome products can equally lead to kidney failure and death. Recall that kidney failure occurs when your kidneys can no longer properly filter your blood. This leads to accumulation of toxins in your blood. NRC Suspends Warri-Itakpe Train Service As Train Derails

The Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, has announced the suspension of rail service along the Warri-Itakpe rail line after a train derailed at kilometre 30 Ajaokuta-Itakpe section of the track. This was contained in a statement issued by the coordinator, Warri-Itakpe train service, Sanni Abdulganiyu, on Sunday. The development comes two weeks after gunmen stormed a train station in Edo state and kidnapped several passengers. However, state authorities say most of those kidnapped have been rescued. Olona Oluwapelumi, a 300-level student of the Federal University of Technology, has taken his life at his residence in the Aule Area of Akure, Ondo State. The deceased who was widely known as Black, was reported to be a student of the Department of Industrial Design at the university. He committed suicide by hanging himself in his room. Nigeria To Spend 60% of Revenue On Debt Servicing In 2023 – Finance Minister

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has said that the country intends to reduce its debt service-to-revenue ratio to 60 percent this year. Ahmed stated this during an interview with Bloomberg TV on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday. Recall that Nigeria recorded a debt service-to-revenue ratio of 80.6 percent in 2022 -a figure much higher than World Bank’s suggested 22.5 percent for low-income countries such as Nigeria.
