Akwa Ibom Assembly Passes Anti-open Grazing Bill

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has passed the anti-open grazing bill into law in the state on Tuesday. The bill entitled, “A Bill for a law to prohibit open rearing and grazing of livestock and provide for the establishment of ranches and Livestock administration, regulation and control, and for other matters connected therewith” was passed after it was read the third time on the floor of the House during the plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Aniekan Bassey. Lagos State Assembly Passes VAT, Open Grazing Bills

The Lagos State House of Assembly has passed the Value Added Tax Bill into law in the state. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the House directed the Acting Clark of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko, to transmit a clean copy to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for assent. The House also passed the bill that prohibits open cattle grazing in the state. Omolafe, popularly called "Expensive" passed on in Akure, the capital city of Ondo state in the early hours of Monday, August 16, 2021. He was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former chairman of Akure South council area of Ondo state. The Nigerian Senate has accused the office of the Accountant General of the Federal of illegally withdrawing N665.8billion from the Development of Natural Resources Fund and Stabilization Funds and issuing as loans to various government agencies. The upper legislative chamber said the money was withdrawn between 2004 and 2015 contrary to the established objectives of the fund. The revelation is contained in the report of the Senate Committee on Public Accounts on the Federation Account. Reps Approve $8b, €490m Loan Requests By Buhari

The House of Representatives yesterday gave the nod for President Muhammadu Buhari to take a loan of   $8,325,526,537 as requested by him. The House also approved a separate €490 million loan request by him. The approvals came under the  2018 – 2020 External Borrowing (Rolling) Plan of the Federal Government. The loan approval followed the consideration of the interim report of the Committee on Aids, Loans, and Debt Management on the Proposed 2018-2020 external borrowing (Rolling) plan and the approval of the recommendations therein. The report was submitted by the committee chairman, Hon Ahmed Dayyabu Safana.
