Police Panel Recommends Demotion For Abba Kyari To Prevent Extradition

The probe panel set up by the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to investigate the erstwhile Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), DCP Abba Kyari, over his links with serial internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi, submitted a compromised report, SaharaReporters has gathered. SaharaReporters learnt that the panel found Kyari guilty of some infractions after its investigations but recommended that Kyari should be demoted and not dismissed. IGP Receives NPF Panel Report On DCP Abba Kyari

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc on Thursday, 26th August, 2021, received the report of the NPF Special Investigation Panel (SIP) investigating the alleged indictment of the erstwhile Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), DCP Abba Kyari by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The report was submitted by the chairman of the SIP, DIG Joseph Egbunike, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. Hisbah Arrests Sadiya Haruna For Uploading ‘Sexual Content’

The Kano State Hisbah Board has docked a Kannywood actress and social media blogger, Sadiya Haruna, for “uploading sexual contents on her social media handles.” The actress, Haruna, a resident of Kabuga Quarters was initially arrested on Friday by the Head of Surveillance Department of Kano State Hisbah Board, Malam Aliyu Usman. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested here armed bandits on an alleged mission Katsina State. The suspects: Adamu Shehu, Tukur Mohammed, and Ibrahim Suleiman were reportedly in possession of three AK-47 rifles and other dangerous items. The NDLEA officials also arrested an alleged manufacturer of heavy weapons, Celestine Chidiebere Christian, with a high calibre G3 rifle, seventy-eight (78) rounds of life ammunition (RLA) of 7.62mm calibre, and five empty shells. South-West Abuses Drug Most in Nigeria – NDLEA Boss

Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.) Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has said that the South-West and South-South rank top on the list of drug abuse cases in Nigeria. Marwa stated that there is a link between drug abuse and violent crimes such as insurgency, banditry and kidnapping, adding that these vices would persist until drug abuse was tackled. 55 COVID-19 Regulation Violators Arrested in Abuja

Fifty-five persons were arraigned before an Abuja Mobile Court on Monday, for not wearing face masks. The violators were summarily tried and convicted by the presiding Magistrate, Ebiwari Eremasi, after pleading guilty to the charges. They were fined N2,000 each with an option of engaging in supervised community service. However, one of the convicts, who attempted to obstruct the court proceedings was remanded in a correctional facility.
