NCL Talks Tough, Ask El-Rufai to Reinstate Disengaged Workers

The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, has said it is not backing down on its protest until the Kaduna State Government reinstates disengaged workers and forfeit plans to sack 11,000 workers. This was said by the Kaduna NCL Chairman, Ayuba Magaji, on Tuesday on the second day of protest against the mass sacking of workers by Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s administration. NLC Asks Akeredolu to Suspend Aide for Slapping Pregnant Woman  

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ondo State chapter has asked governor Rotimi Akeredolu to suspend his Senior Special Assistant on Special Duty, Dr Doyin Odebowale, for allegedly slapping a pregnant woman, Mrs Adeola Egbebi, at Oja Oba Market in Akure. The NCL threatened to embark on a protest starting from Monday until the SSA is relieved of his position for slapping the woman, which caused her to slump. SSANU Under Pressure to Resume Suspended Strike

The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU, has said the Federal Government’s failure to fulfil its agreements with the union by the April 30th deadline has put it under pressure to resume the suspended strike. The union lamented that the government had yet to begin payment of the ensuing adjustments for the new national minimum wage and the allowances contained in the earned allowance.
