Buhari Ratifies Appointment of Husseini Baba-Yusuf As FCT Acting Chief Judge

President Muhammadu Buhari has ratified the appointment of justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf as the acting Chief Judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council. This was contained in a press statement issued by the Director of Information, Soji Oye, on Saturday. Court Remands Businessman In Prison For Allegedly Insulting Fintiri on Social Media

The Magistrate Court 2, presided by Magistrate Japhet Ibrahim Basani, on Monday remanded a businessman, Ali Numan, in Prison for allegedly insulting Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State on social media. It was gathered that Numan had on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 17th, 20th and 29th of July 2021, criticised the governor in posts published in Hausa and Fulfulde languages on his Facebook page. He was said to have allegedly described Governor Fintiri as “a thief and father of all thieves in Nigeria.” Numan allegedly claimed that the governor stole noodles and spaghetti and also hundreds of billions of naira. Court Remands Ex-President Yar’Adua’s Son For Allegedly Killing Four Including 2-Year-Old

Aminu Yar’Adua, son of the late former President Umar Yar’Adua of Nigeria, has been remanded in prison for allegedly killing four people in an auto crash in Yola. A Magistrate Court in Yola remanded the 36-year-old Aminu, on Thursday after he appeared in court for allegedly causing death by dangerous driving on June 23, 2021. The suspect is a student of the American University of Nigeria, Yola in Adamawa state. According to the police, First Information Report (FIR) tendered in court by the prosecutor, Insp. The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has appointed former Anambra State Governor, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, to lead the group’s delegation to the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, in Abuja on Monday. The appointment was made by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide President General, Prof George Obiozor, Vanguard reports.
