Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial Adjourned To February 16, 2022

The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned to consider the application filed by the defence lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, SAN. Nnamdi Kanu had earlier pleaded not guilty to the FG's amended charges. The Prosecution lawyer insisted that the FG was ready to go on with the case and have two witnesses in Court. However, Mike Ozekhome filed an application to quash all charges against his client and also filed an application for bail, a move Labaran Magaji (lawyer to the FG) countered that he only received the application this morning and the main trial should continue. Despite the order of Justice Binta Nyako of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that the Department of State Services should allow Nnamdi Kanu to have a change of clothes, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra yet again appeared in court on Wednesday with the same designer wears he wore when he was re-arrested and brought back to Nigeria in June 2021. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, adjourned further proceedings in the case against the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, till Wednesday. The adjournment followed Kanu’s complaint that the Federal Government failed to promptly serve him the fresh 15 amended charges it brought before the court. The family of late Sylvester Oromoni, Jnr, a 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lagos State, who was allegedly murdered, has faulted the bail granted to the suspects by a Magistrate’s court in Yaba. On Tuesday, the Magistrate court granted bail to five students of Dowen College charged with the alleged murder of Oromoni. The students were admitted to bail in the sum of N1million each.
