NDLEA Destroys N2Billion Worth of Illicit Drugs in Akwa Ibom
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, revealed about N2 billion worth of illicit drugs has been destroyed by the agency between 2014 and September 2021 in Akwa Ibom.
The Agency’s Secretary, Mr. Shedrach Haruna, who represented the NDLEA Chairman, retired Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, said this when he visited the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo in Uyo on Thursday.

Marwa revealed that within the stated period, a total of 2.768 tonnes of drugs which include, Cannabis sativa, cocaine, heroin, and other psychotropic substances were seized.
He also added that the Agency also participated in drug awareness and sensitisation programmes that targeted vulnerable youths.
