ASUU Strike: Aviation Union Set To Shut Down Airports

Abdulrasaq Saidu, the General Secretary of the Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals, ANAP, says the group will join the protest scheduled by the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, to demand an end to the lingering ASUU strike and those of other university workers. Saidu urged President Muhammadu Buhari to take measures to bring an end to the more than five months long strike, noting that it has led to an increase in social vices across the country. Recall that ASUU had on February 14, 2022, embarked on a strike over issues relating to the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement and deployment of the University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS) payment platform.
