4 Million Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine Expected on Tuesday – PTF

Nigeria is expected to take delivery of its first batch of COVID-19 vaccine allocation on Tuesday, March 3, 2021 the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has assured. Chairman of the PTF and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, who made the disclosure late Saturday night, also said the expected allocation will be four million doses. According to him, the vaccine allocation being expected is at no financial cost to Nigeria, adding the batch courtesy of the corporate facility. The government had earlier said that the first four million doses of the vaccines would arrive the country by the end of February and later said it might be first week in March. Breaking: Abducted Kagara Students Released

Bandits have released the students and staff of Government Science College Kagara, in Niger State who were kidnapped Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Their release was confirmed by a top security source involved in the counter-kidnapping operation in the State who spoke to Punch. Recall that the students were abducted by the bandits who disguised in military uniforms from their hostels over a week ago. Among those abducted were 27 students, three staff members, and 12 members of their family in the early hours of Wednesday.

The Federal Government has extended the deadline for millions of Nigerians unable to link their National Identity numbers (NINs) with Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards to February 9. The initial deadline expired on January 19. The mobile network operators (MNOs) said the Federal Government granted a further extension of the deadline to February 9 to allow subscribers yet to sync their SIMs with their NINs to do so. Zambia’s presidency on Sunday announced the sacking of the country’s health minister, arrested for alleged graft last year but cleared of charges.
