Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has given a reason for his inability to meet the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, when he visited the state for his campaign rally. Obi during an interview on Channels Television on Monday refuted claims that he deliberately refused to visit the Oba, noting that the traditional ruler was not readily available. There have been suggestions that the Lagos traditional ruler refused Obi’s request to visit the palace during the LP presidential campaign rally. AK-47 Wielding House On The Rock Pastor Arrested, Church Apologises

The Police in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has confirmed the arrest of Uche Aigbe, the presiding pastor of House on the Rock, Abuja Chapter, for bearing an AK47 rifle addressing the congregation. The command also confirmed that the church’s Chief Security Officer and Inspector Musa Audu have been arrested for releasing his gun to Pastor Aigbe. Bashir Bashir, the governorship flagbearer of the Labour Party, LP, in Kabno State has dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress, APC. Jamaica has announced that it plans to import vehicles from Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing in Nigeria. Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has banned cash transactions in all government offices in the state. Obaseki said the ban would be effective from March 1, 2023. He disclosed this on Thursday in Benin, during a workshop for senior civil and public servants on the state government’s code of ethics. Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle has asked security operatives to arrest anybody who refuses to recognize and accept old naira notes for transactions in the state. The governor issued the directive at a swearing-in ceremony of the new High Court Judges and Special Advisers held at the Government House Gusau on Friday.
