I Didn’t Say Anything About IPOB On Imo, Anambra Killings – Nnia Nwodo

Immediate past President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo has distanced himself from a media publication ascribing to him statements on the killings in Imo and Anambra states. The story, according to Nwodo, had it that he blamed the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, for the killings in the southeast states. But Nwodo in a reaction to the online publication, on Sunday, said it was unfounded, maintaining that he never spoke to anybody on such a controversial issue. He dismissed the story as emanating from mischief makers and urged the general public to ignore it. The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation; Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has described as unnecessary the plan by Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB to lock down the South-East, noting that it will inflict more injuries on the people of the region. Nnamdi Kanu Files Suit Against Kenya Over Extradition to Nigeria

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has sued Kenya over his extradition to Nigeria. The pro-Biafra activist’s brother, Kingsley Kanunta, sued on his behalf, according to court papers obtained by our correspondent In his petition presented by Luchiri and Company Advocates, Kanu argued that his arrest in Kenya and subsequent extradition to Nigeria in June were unconstitutional. Those named as respondents are Kenya’s Interior CS, Director of Immigration, Director of Criminal Investigations, OCPD Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and the Attorney General. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, said it has declared war on anybody found enforcing sit-at-home order, on Mondays. Describing such people as saboteurs, the pro-Biafra group added that the weekly Monday sit-at-home has been suspended. DSS Stopped American Lawyer, Others From Visiting Kanu —Counsel

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Lead Counsel for the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has said that the Department of State Services stopped the detainee from seeing his lawyers on Thursday. Ejiofor, in a statement on Friday, said the secret police denied himself and other lawyers including “IPOB’s Attorney in the United States, Bruce Fein”, from meeting with Kanu. He described the denial as a violation of the order of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja which ordered that the DSS should allow the lawyers to visit Kanu twice a week. Gov Umahi Threatens To Sack Workers, Seize Shops Of Traders Who Sit-at-home

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has directed the immediate seizure of shops whose owners obey the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra on Monday. The governor also ordered the immediate sacking of civil servants who fail to show up at work on Monday, and called on security chiefs in the South-East zone to deploy security officers to the streets to avert the breakdown of law and order.
