Baba Ijesha Sentenced to 16 Years in Prison for Sexual Assault

Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James popularly known as Baba Ijesha has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old. Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences convicted the actor in a two-hour court judgement on Thursday. About 21,000 police officers have been deployed for the upcoming governorship election in Osun state. The election is set to take place this Saturday 16th of July 2022. Boat Mishap: Illegal Operators Cause Rising Death Toll

Over 17 persons have been confirmed dead in the boat mishap that took place at Mile Two in Lagos on Friday night. Around 17 persons were missing when a commercial boat capsized in the Mile Two water canal at 7:45 pm. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed this as of yesterday. NEMA’s coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye said two bodies were recovered on Saturday night. One was a 52-year-old man and the other a 20-year-old lady. Alleged human trafficker, Matthew Bassey was intercepted by The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in an attempt to traffic illicit drugs to Dubai.
