Immediate past Deputy National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Diran Odeyemi, yesterday, asked National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, to immediately resign, otherwise, the chances of the party winning the forthcoming presidential election could be jeopardised. Odeyemi made this demand in a statement he personally signed, stressing that over one week after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar emerged as PDP’s presidential candidate, Ayu has no moral right to retain his position as chairman. APC Primary: Buhari Meets Govs, Party Chairman, Stakeholders

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday met with some select stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress including former chairmen, the current National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu; the National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore; and some governors elected on the platform of the party. The meeting came amid the inability of the governors to produce a consensus candidate barely 24 hours to the party’s convention. A second meeting is expected to hold between all 22 governors of the APC and the President on Monday (today). Many Killed In Ondo Catholic Church Attack

Over 40 people have been reportedly killed in an attack on St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo town, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. It was learnt that the incident happened in the church, which is less than 200 meters away from the Palace of Olowo of Owo. Workers at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, confirmed that many people were brought in dead on Sunday. The attack was carried out during the Sunday mass, reports say. A viral online video showed some worshippers being killed and lying on the floor of the church in the pool of their own blood.
